"PUT A THOUGHT TO AN IMAGE, NOT AN IMAGE TO A THOUGHT"
I have spent a week trying to figure out what to do for my degree show, treating it as a specific project - planning to design each piece, and making the works accordingly. I was thinking of asking people to send me a photograph of their face looking the way they would like to be remembered after death, and painting them. I would then have made their bodies of stuffed, white fabric.
I got bored before I even started.
It's about time to admit that I cannot work in projects: I simply need to get my hands dirty and produce something concrete. The visual comes before its theoretical explanations.
So, let's see how this pans out. I'm on my way to the studio to prime some MDF.
